5th wheel trailer: I have some exceptional fifth wheel rv for sale in Edmonton. Many of my clients travel from Grande prairie, ft mcmurray, Calgary, red deer and Sherwood park to find their ideal 5th wheel. Fifth wheels have a few unique characteristics that set them apart from travel trailers that attach to the bumper of a tow vehicle. Towing a 5th wheel trailer is generally considered a more comfortable experience for most rv enthusiasts as the hitch weight of the 5th wheel is placed in front of the rear axle of the truck. As a result of this 5th wheel placement, the tow vehicle and the 5th wheel feel a bit more connected. Also, a 5th wheel that is 34’ long will actually have a towing length of approximately 30’, because 4’ of the fifth wheel trailer is actually up over the box of the truck it is being towed by. 5th wheels also tend to be much roomier inside and offer more exterior storage than travel trailers do because they have taller sidewalls and a step up to the gooseneck that provides for more room in the 5th wheel. As a result of this, there are a large variety of 5th wheel floor plans that lend themselves to comfortable relaxed living. Buy a 5th wheel if you are looking for a more spacious living area but know also that 5th wheels tend to be heavier than comparable travel trailers from floor plan to floor plan so it is likely you will need to have a ¾ ton or 1 ton truck to tow the fifth wheel you like. Fifth wheel trailers in Alberta can be toy hauler designs, bunk model designs or non bunk designs so there is certainly a nice 5th wheel you can find when rv buying. I gladly sell the rockwood signature ultra lite 5th wheels (comparable to the flagstaff classic 5th wheels) built by forest river – these rockwood 5th wheels are designed for towing with a heavy ½ ton truck and are ideal lightweight 5th wheels if you want to tow a shorter rv 5th wheel.
