Cherokee fifth wheels, like Cherokee trailers are mostly geared toward family campers, but the non-bunk plans they do make capture great features that couples with occasional guests can really appreciate. This Cherokee 255S 5^th Wheel floor plan is a great example of that with a nice large bedroom, all in one bathroom, large rear entertainment center and super slide for lots of galley space. How are Cherokee Trailers Built? Cherokee and Grey Wolf trailers are built the way RVs have been built for decades. They have a wooden frame, trussed roof, and exterior finishing in either aluminum or fiberglass. However, there are a few key ways that the construction Cherokee trailers for sale in Edmonton differ from the various other manufacturers of travel trailers and fifth wheels.The first major difference is in how much material is actually used in the construction itself. Cherokee and Grey Wolf RVs have a lot more framing than that of a typical wood framed RV. Where other trailers would have studs every 16 inches, Cherokee and Grey Wolf RVs have their studs every 12 inches on average. This provides you with a much sturdier product because the structure is braced by much more framing, and there is less space that needs to be kept in place by the interior and exterior finishing materials. Cherokee trailers do not hide cheap materials beneath a seemingly well built exterior. Another important point about Cherokee RV construction is their use of real 2" 5/8 tongue and groove plywood in the floor. In combination with Cherokee's 12" on center 2"x3" floor joists, you get a very sturdy trailer that you don't have to tip toe around in. Another important difference that is often overlooked is the use of rotocast holding tanks. This is an important difference particularly with respect to Alberta RV users because of our cold climate. A rotocast holding tank is entirely molded in a cast, rather than melting two or more pieces together to form the finished tank. The big advantage of that technique is that you get a seamless tank, which greatly decreases weak spots and aids in the longevity of your RVs pluming system. And those are just the differences you can't see!  Another difference between a Cherokee trailer in Edmonton and other trailers with aluminum walls is Cherokee RVs use of a fiberglass front on ALL of their travel trail A fiberglass front protects the part of your RV that is most at risk for road and rock damage. This is especially important for RVs in Alberta because our particularly rocky roads. The fiberglass also reduces wind resistance and looks sharp too. Incredible interior storage.
