A motorhome – or any rv for that matter – that has been lived in often shows excessive wear and tear on the upholstery and carpets, both of which can be expensive to replace. Also, used motor homes that have been lived in may also have peeling exterior rv decals (expensive to replace) and may also have moisture build up in the walls and ceiling of the motorhome. Moisture can be a killer in a used rv because it can lead to mould issues. A motorhome for sale that has a LOT of kms on it for the model year may have been used as a rental motorhome. Many RV dealers have used motor homes for sale that have formerly been used as rental motorhomes. Most rv rental business plans call for a motor home to be used till appx 30,000 miles are on it before it becomes a used motorhome for sale. Depending on the rental rv dealer, though, there are rv rental companies that put a lot of miles on their motor homes before putting them for sale. Although there is nothing wrong with this, these class c motorhomes for sale then have to be looked at very closely before a decision to buy an rv like this is made. Just like a motorhome that has been lived in, a class c motor home with a lot of miles on it will not only show signs of excessive wear on the fabrics, but the drive train of the motorhome chassis will also have some wear issues that could develop. Most of this depends on whether the RV dealer who rented the rv out was very diligent at keeping the class c rv in tip top shape during its tenure as an rv rental.
